Data partnerships
Your data could help build the next generation of AI.
Explore a data partnership built around rights, provenance, and clearly agreed permitted use. We work with organizations that own or control valuable real-world data, assessing opportunities to acquire or license it for AI training, evaluation, and research-related applications. We are selective: rights, provenance and quality come before any commercial conversation.
Areas of interest
What we are interested in.
These are areas where we would like to hear from you. They are not a list of what we will buy, and being in one of them does not mean an opportunity will proceed.
Software engineering history
Records of how real software work was done: reviews, tickets, change history.
Technical documentation
Specialist documentation that captures how systems are meant to behave.
Domain-specific records
Professional work product from fields where expert judgement matters.
Structured operational data
Event and process data that can be reconstructed into multi-step tasks.
Specialist datasets
Curated collections held by organizations with the authority to license them.
What makes data valuable
How we weigh an opportunity.
Seven things decide whether a dataset is worth taking further. None is sufficient alone.
Relevance
Does it reflect tasks AI systems are actually asked to do?
Uniqueness
Is it hard to find elsewhere, or only available through you?
Provenance
Can its origin and history be traced and documented?
Rights clarity
Is ownership clear, and is authority to license established?
Quality
Is it accurate, consistent and complete enough to be useful?
Coverage
Does it span enough variety of cases to teach or measure something?
Permitted downstream use
Can it lawfully be used for AI training or evaluation as intended?
How it works
From inquiry to approved transfer.
Rights and provenance are assessed before any commercial discussion, and nothing moves until permitted use is defined.
01 · AssessNo commercial discussion yet Data opportunity
You describe what the data is and who holds it.
Initial suitability review
We check relevance to real AI training or evaluation tasks.
Ownership and rights assessment
Who owns it, and who is authorized to license it.
Provenance and quality assessment
Where it came from, how complete it is, how consistent.
02 · AgreeOnly if the assessment supports it Commercial discussion
Whether, and on what basis, to proceed.
Contract and permitted-use definition
What may be done with the data, and what may not.
03 · ProcessOnly after agreement Approved transfer
Data moves by an agreed, secured route. Never by web form.
Curation and validation
Domain experts review and validate what is kept.
This is the process a submission would follow, not the status of any dataset. Submitting does not guarantee a commercial offer or acquisition.
Possible structures
Depending on suitability and agreement.
Which of these, if any, applies depends on the data and on what both sides agree. We do not publish terms.
Acquisition
Where a dataset is suitable and ownership is clear, Synthium may discuss acquiring it.
Licensing
Where you wish to retain ownership, a licence may define what Synthium may do with it.
A scoped data partnership
Where the opportunity is ongoing or bounded to a specific need, a narrower arrangement may fit.
Discuss your data
Tell us what you hold and what you are authorized to do with it. We'll assess it and reply by email. This is not a public upload portal.
Questions
Before you submit.
- Does submitting guarantee that Synthium will acquire or license my data?
- No. Submitting starts a review. Most opportunities will not proceed, and a reply is not an offer.
- Should I send a sample or the data itself?
- No. Please describe it in words. If we proceed, we will agree a secure transfer route. Do not send data, samples, credentials or personal records through the form or by email.
- What if my data includes personal or confidential information?
- Say so in the form. Personal, confidential, regulated and third-party material needs additional review, and may not be suitable. De-identification alone does not make data safe or reusable.
- What if I am not sure whether I have the right to license it?
- Choose “We are not sure yet”. We will treat that as a question for the rights assessment and will not assume the answer.
- Do you publish what you pay or how many datasets you hold?
- No. We do not publish prices, volumes, dataset counts or partner names, and we do not describe terms before an agreement exists.
- How long does a review take?
- It depends on the data and the rights position. We will tell you what to expect when we reply.
